Dancing Through Life's Lessons: The True Meaning of Christmas | Blogmas collab with Project Inspired

Hey everyone. I hope you are having a lovely day so far. My Christmas show opens on the 9th so I have been rehearsing every spare chance I get. I have finals coming up so again, I've been studying a whole lot.
Welcome to the first week of Blogsmas. I was thinking about doing Blogsmas the whole month of December but I just decided to do the 12 Days of Blogsmas instead. There will be three Blogsmas posts in total. So let's begin!
Today I bring to you a collab with the Project Inspired's Girl Group on Facebook. It's a great group for Christian girls, and while I don't fully consider myself a Christian just yet because I am still trying to figure out what I believe in spiritually, it's been a great resource and outlet for me to get faith-based advice and all.

I asked the members of this group the question, "What does Christmas mean to you?" and here are their responses. I included my response at the very end.

"Christmas to me is a remembrance of the beginning of Christ's journey on Earth. It is a time in which I recognize how the Lord came as a gift to us and would one day die for our sins. I enjoy giving gifts to friends and family just as Christ did for us." ~ Christina S.

"Christmas to me means celebrating Jesus and remember and meditating about all of the things he's done foe me and how God sent him. and how much Jesus and God love me.
Also It's a time for giving and spending time with family and letting them know how much you appreciate them." ~ Victoria S.

"Christmas is a time to celebrate Jesus. a time to remember his journey in the womb to Bethlehem, and then birth with Mary & Joseph. Christmas is the day we celebrate His birth (even though he was born in the Spring some time around March). It is essentially a birthday party for the Holy Son of God. Because of His goodness and love, we give to others and spend time loving others. In sort of a way to honor and glorify Him. Christmas is also a time to do fun things with the family like decorate, bake, listen to Christmas songs, and watch Christmas movies." ~ Ivy M.

"To me Christmas is about remembering all that Jesus has done for me and to celebrate His birth. It is about spending joyous times with friends and family and having joy, peace and thanksgiving in our hearts! It gives us all a chance to share the Good News with those surrounding us!" ~ Karissa P.

"As the song, "I'm Giving Love for Christmas" goes, "What Christmas means to me, it's more than presents under the tree. Christmas is all about caring, nothing is quite as warming. Christmas is being with family; seeing all the friends you've missed..." Christmas is the time to see family we may not see on a daily basis and it's also when we get to see friends who might be off at college or away during the school year. It's easily the best time of the year, not because of the presents, but because people are kinder to each other during this time this year. I wish it was like that year round. Within the same song, it says, "I'm giving love for Christmas. It doesn't need a bow; it only needs to come from your heart." and I feel like people are more heartfelt and kinder during the month of December." ~ Felicity R.

  1. I really like how fascinated you are by religion, as you may know I am too. It's just so lovely to learn about different cultures and what people believe in so it was so interesting reading this post. Good luck with your finals and Christmas show! Thanks for sharing :)

  2. I am not religious but I decided to celebrate Christmas differently this year as in last couple of years I've not really got into the real Christmas spirit. This year though I am trying to slow down and not worry about material things but rather than that reserve more time for people I've not seen for a long time and family get togethers. I just really want to keep it relaxed and fun as that's what it should be all about.

  3. For me Christmas is about relaxing and finding time for people I care about. This year I am trying to put more effort into decorating my place and when I come home I am planning to catch up with old friends.
